If ever there was a dream job, this it it!

I figure trivia is in my blood - the evidence is below, if you are old enough to remember the TV show It's Academic!  Apparently I was the only 15 year old in the show's history whose voice had not broken!

During my OE in 1996, I was working for a bank in London, at which time I was invited to a quiz night. Until that point, like most New Zealanders, I had no idea what a quiz night was. What transpired was the most fun I've ever had on a night out. I vowed to take the concept back to New Zealand, and in 1998 I arrived home determined to check out its potential. I soon discovered that quiz nights were as rare as hen's teeth, and those that were in existence were often poorly organised by the local ex-pat English community. I personally hosted Sky City's weekly quiz night for the best part of a decade, and despite two wee recent arrivals to teach me how to change nappies and lose plenty of sleep, I still manage to run the weekly quiz night at the Kings Arms in Newton every Tuesday night.

I have a passion for quiz nights. My priority is ensuring the quiz product itself is well presented and to an extremely high standard. I love setting the questions, and take every care not to make mistakes, as if ever there's an element of a quiz that lets it down, it's ambiguity and inaccuracy - the curse of all quiz hosts is being challenged by a team that insists a question is wrong!

My personal assurance to every client is that I take their quiz experience personally, endeavouring to visit every pub quiz venue over the course of the year. A recent survey indicated that most people thought telecommunication companies had the worst customer service - I'd like to think quiz companies (or at least this one) has the best!
